Working Definition of "identity"

"Identity isn't just about what is physical, it is a combination of both physical and mental. In my opinion identity is offten mistaken by what people see, such as the way someone dresses, the color of their skin and the way they act in public. But there is much more to then what meets the eye. ones identity is represented by other things such as personal choices, their religious background, where they come from, and their over all outlook on life. Identity isn't a label that society has made up it is a mixture of different components to shape who an individual is.

I liked how you included the mistakes people make about identity. It shows that is not a simple topic to discuss and that there is a different definition for everyone. I agree with the last sentance and think that a "mixture of different components" is a good way to put it.

Identity is a very hard word to describe. It can mean so many different things to so many different people. I agree strongly that identity is mainly focused within your mindset. Mentality is a very powerful thing to human kind. Your appearance does not tell a person way of living. For examples, Your faith, culture, family, friends, taste in music, and even where you live are all important aspects to creating an identity. I like how you wrote your point across smoothly; very thorough!
